Privacy & LinkedIn Portability Policy

Last updated: 16 October 2025

This notice explains how G2S processes personal information, including data retrieved through LinkedIn’s DMA Portability APIs, and outlines the measures we take to comply with LinkedIn’s Additional Terms and applicable privacy laws.

1. About this notice

Good To Share (“G2S”, “we”, “us”) operates a referral platform that lets members analyse their LinkedIn network and send qualified introductions to our sales teams. When you use the LinkedIn DMA Portability API workflow within G2S, you authorise us to process personal data under the LinkedIn API Terms of Use and the Additional Terms for the LinkedIn DMA Portability API Programs (last revised 18 November 2023).

If this notice ever conflicts with LinkedIn’s terms, LinkedIn’s contract controls. We do not collect LinkedIn data by scraping, password harvesting, or any unofficial method.

2. Information we receive

We never ask for your LinkedIn password. OAuth tokens issued by LinkedIn are handled according to LinkedIn’s Portability Documentation and are not shared outside our secure systems.

  • Account data you provide directly (name, email, programme activity, referral history).
  • LinkedIn portability data contained in the ZIP archive you upload (for example Connections.csv and Profile.csv). This typically includes connection names, job titles, employers, profile URLs, and connection dates, limited to what LinkedIn chooses to include in the export you request.
  • Technical telemetry needed to secure the service (device/browser metadata, IP address, timestamps, audit logs).

3. How we use portability data

We do not sell, license, rent, or otherwise disclose LinkedIn portability data to third parties. We use it solely to provide the features you trigger and only for as long as LinkedIn’s Additional Terms permit.

  • Analyse your LinkedIn network against our product catalogue in order to surface high-probability introductions.
  • Prefill recommendation and communication workflows so you can pass a warm lead to a vendor in a few clicks.
  • Show you back the resulting matches and insights in your authenticated dashboard.

4. Storage and retention

  • The ZIP archive you upload is processed in memory and discarded immediately after the matching workflow completes. We do not persist the ZIP or the raw CSV files.
  • We store only the derived matches (contact details, scoring, product pairing, and optional notes) inside our own PostgreSQL database so that you can review or action them later.
  • You may delete your matches or close your account at any time. Unless retention is required by law, we will erase the corresponding data and confirm completion.
  • If LinkedIn, a member, or a page owner requests deletion of portability data, we comply promptly and document the action.

5. Sharing and security

  • Access to portability data is limited to authorised personnel and backend services that operate the scoring workflow.
  • We apply industry-standard safeguards: encryption in transit, hardened infrastructure, role-based access, logging, and monitoring.
  • Our trusted sub-processors are: managed PostgreSQL hosting (application database), Resend (transactional email), and cloud infrastructure providers that meet comparable security and compliance standards.
  • We do not mix portability data with LinkedIn Marketing APIs or other programmes, and we respect LinkedIn’s restrictions on redistributing standardised fields or Microsoft Bing Maps data.

6. Legal basis and your rights

  • Processing LinkedIn portability exports is based on the explicit consent you give by requesting the data transfer through our application. Running the referral programme relies on contractual necessity or legitimate interest.
  • You can withdraw consent, access your data, request correction, deletion, restriction, or portability, and object to processing by emailing privacy@goodtoshare.fr.
  • You also have the right to lodge a complaint with your local data protection authority if you believe we are not meeting our obligations.

7. Your choices

  • You can use the G2S platform without uploading a LinkedIn archive; the matching workflow is entirely optional.
  • Delete matches in your dashboard whenever you no longer wish us to keep the derived insights.
  • Request account deletion or data suppression by contacting privacy@goodtoshare.fr or via in-app support. We will confirm when the deletion is complete.

8. Updates and contact

We revise this notice whenever LinkedIn updates its portability terms or whenever our processing changes. The effective date is shown at the top of the page.
